ESL SUMMER 2020 – Online Classes June 16-July 23

Testing for ESL online summer classes is now FULL. Please check our ESL and Citizenship page in August for information on testing for Fall 2020 ESL classes. Advanced ESL students may be interested in registering for a summer English enrichment class.

CNA/MA ORIENTATION – Friday, June 19

Our next Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Medical Assistant (MA) Orientation will be held online on Friday, June 19, 10:00AM-12:00PM. This orientation is a prerequisite for enrollment in the CNA and MA programs. The orientation is free of charge. Register online.

HIGH SCHOOL ONLINE SUMMER SCHOOL 2020

Registration for Online Summer School opened on Friday, April 17. Applications were due by Friday, May 15. Please visit the Summer School page for more information.

MVLA ADULT SCHOOL PHYSICAL CLOSURE

The MVLA Adult School physical closure, effective Monday, March 16, 2020, has been extended to include both spring and summer sessions. This decision was made by the MVLA High School District, and was based on the best available information about the current COVID-19 situation in Santa Clara County. More information about the closure will be posted here as it becomes available.

The Mountain View Los Altos Adult School has been accredited by the Western Association of Schools & Colleges since 1965.


The Mountain View Los Altos Adult School is a Pearson VUE Test Center; an NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing) test site for Medical Assistants, Medical Office Assistants, and Medical Insurance and Coding Specialists; an AMCA (American Medical Certification Association) test center for Physical Therapy Aide (PTA); and a CompTIA-approved academic partner.

Complaint Process

The Mountain View Los Altos Union High School District has a uniform complaint process as required in Code of Regulations, Title 5, Section 4622. MVLA UHSD Policy AR 1312.3(a). Leyla Benson, Associate Superintendent of Human Resources, is the designated compliance officer. A copy of that policy is available at the MVLA Adult School front office. The policy provides for mediation or investigation, presentation of information relevant to the complaint, follow-up and remedies or appeals as appropriate. Title IX is a federal civil rights law that was passed as part of the Education Amendments of 1972. This is public law states that “no person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”
